The Rajeshwar Lal Mahavidyalaya was established in the year of 1979. This premier institute is well known as R. Lal College, Lakhisarai. It is located in Naya Bazar Dalpatti 1 KM away in Southern direction from the Lakhisarai Railway Station and is also well connected with roadways. This college is the oldest and sole constituent college in the Lakhisarai district headquarter. It was founded in the memories of Late Rajeshwar Lal and Late Baleshwar Prasad Sah, the great leader of preasant movement and social activist. This college provides quality co-education facilities in Arts, Science and Commerce faculties. It was initially affiliated in the session 1980 – 1981 in the faculties of Arts up to degree level and in the session, 1981 – 1982 in the science and Commerce faculties from the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) and it was made constituent on 18th December 1980. It has now come into Munger University, Munger, and bifurcated from TMBU since 18th March 2018 under Bihar University 1976 amendment act 2016, Bihar Act ………

Rajeshwar Lal Mahavidyalaya is the significant institutions of higher education in the Lakhisarai. It was founded in the year 1979 on the historic land of Lord Buddha, a great saint Sringirishi and of the great mother of the world “Ma Bala Tripur Sundri” under the Lakhisarai district on the state of Bihar. Rajeshwar Lal Mahavidyalaya is also known as R. LAL College, Lakhisarai. It has been imparting co-education in both of the faculties, Arts, Science and Commerce from intermediate classes to graduate-level (Honours Standard).
This institution has been trying to cultivate the teaching-learning opportunities as per the demand of the emerging trend of changing and innovative technology used in the field of higher education. It also provides valuable education and shapes academic career incorporating ethical and moral ethos in the personality development of the students.
